Northumberland High School, finishing its best season in over a decade tied as the Northern Neck District champion and a Region 1A finalist, led the All-Northern Neck District football team with nine first-team selections.
Northumberland’s Delvin Palmer shared co-offensive player of the year honors with Essex High’s KJ Dameron. The Indians’ Aaron Lewis was named coach of the year. Linebacker Cole Setliff of Colonial Beach was named the defensive player of the year.
Additionally, Dameron was chosen as the Region 1A offensive player of the year and Lewis was chosen as the region coach of the year. Franklin’s Juhan Carr was named the region’s defensive player of the year.
Despite a last place finish in the district and no postseason appearance, Lancaster placed two on the district’s offensive first team in senior running back Chris Dameron and senior tight end BJ Lee. C. Dameron and Lee also received first-team All-Region 1A honors.
