CLARAVILLE— Assistant superintendent Dr. Karen Leslie’s resignation was unanimously refused during a Monday, May 12, school board meeting. In turn, she has been offered the position of superintendent just days after the board voted to terminate Dr. Holly Wargo from the position.
Following a year of financial disarray and overall personnel dysfunction, the school board voted 3-2 on Thursday, May 8, to remove Wargo as superintendent.
On Monday, board member Dr. David Curran moved to refuse the resignation of Leslie, and in turn offer her the role of superintendent. Dr. Cheryl Davis, Denise Mazyck, Betty Christopher and Dana O’Bier all voted in favor of the motion, 5-0.
