Northumberland school board proposes $23.1 million budget

CLARAVILLE—The Northumberland school board unanimously approved a $23,147,438 proposed budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year during a Monday, January 8 school board meeting.

According to clerk of the board Tara Booth, the new budget reflects an $8,029 increase over the current $23,139,409 budget. Through a number of efficiencies, the budget increased by just a small percentage, said Booth. 

Some efficiencies included reduction of one driver through consolidation of bus routes, and cutting back on travel expenses and materials, she said. 

Additionally, the budget reflects a continued 2% increase from January-June for all full-time employees plus a 1.25% step increase, a $34,685 increase for an occupational therapist and a $2,000 increase for the dual enrollment….
