Northumberland schools recognize faculty and students; budget work stalls

CLARAVILLE—Assistant superintendent Karen Leslie on Monday, March 10, announced Northumberland High School science teacher Rebekah Jones has been named high school teacher of the year as well as district teacher of the year.

With superintendent Holly Wargo absent from the board meeting due to a family emergency, Leslie highlighted three teachers who went above and beyond their call of duty and were recognized as top educators of the year.

In addition to Jones, kindergarten special education instructor Kim Farmer was named teacher of the year for the elementary school and eighth grade special education instructor Victoria West earned the title of middle school teacher of the year.
