Northumberland superintendent introduces $22.9 million school proposal for fiscal year 2025-26

HEATHSVILLE—At the Northumberland school board meeting on Monday, January 13, superintendent Holly Wargo presented a proposed 2025-26 school budget of $22,953,751.

The figure represents an increase of $1,424,687 over the current fiscal guide.

According to Wargo, for professionals and classified employees, a step of 1.25% and 3.75% salary increase is proposed. Administrators, division leaders and directors would receive a step increase of 1.25%. According to Wargo, these increases will cost $1,178,983.

An estimated 10% increase in health insurance costs, totaling $245,705, is reflected in the budget as well as health insurance for all full-time employees.
