HEATHSVILLE—After months of deliberation, the Northumberland board of supervisors on March 5 unanimously, 4-0, approved the purchase of new HVAC systems for the elementary school. Members Thomas Tomlin, Richard Haynie, Ronald Jett and James Brann voted in favor of the upgrade, while member James Long was absent from the meeting.
The board voted to accept a contract to replace four HVAC units on the elementary school roof from Honeywell Building Controls for a total cost of $816,640. Board members also considered a $984,900 bid from Daikin Comfort to install the new HVAC units and upgrade the school’s entire climate control technology to a digital system.
