Nutshell fleet to raise sails again Saturday on the Great Wicomico

Nutshell season is well underway on the Great Wiomico River, with the fleet getting two more regattas in since the season opener on May 16.

A regatta on May 31 was held with four racers in attendance, reported Ellen Saga. Winds started out light and variable but increased to a steady 7 knots by the regatta finish.

Bill Atwill, the newest member of the fleet, returned May 31 despite a rocky start on the 16th, said Sagan. He was rewarded for his determination by securing a third-place finish in ….
