One School, One Book project receives sorority and community support

The grants committee of Virginia Alpha Delta Kappa recently awarded Northumberland Elementary School (NES) teacher Sue Swift a $1,000 Barbara Hodge Mini-Grant.

NES will receive a check for $1,000 so Swift can use the money towards One School, One Book, reported Alpha Delta Gamma Alpha Chapter publicist Karen Luzuriaga. This grant will help to cover the cost of the books.

The Gamma Alpha Chapter is proud of Swift’s accomplishments and contributions to the students and community of Northumberland County, said Luzuriaga.

Frederick Rogers of Reedville Bait Company made a generous offer to support this project. They donated an additional $2,000 to further assist in the purchase…
