Operation Christmas Child drop-off locations are open

Shaley and Sydney Carson of White Stone Church of the Nazarene move cartons filled with shoeboxes received from Historic White Marsh Church.

Children in need will be blessed this Christmas season through the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child.

Ellie Muddlman and Sandi Sutherland of Historic White Marsh Church place shoeboxes in shipping cartons so they can be sent to kids in need across the world. Historic White Marsh Church surpassed a challenge from their project leader to pack 1,000 shoeboxes this year with a total of 1,011.

Individuals, families and groups have an opportunity to pack a shoebox gift filled with toys, school supplies and personal care items and drop them during National Collection Week through Monday, November 25. There are more than 4,700 drop-off locations nationwide. There are seven drop-off locations in the Rappatomac Area covering Essex, King & Queen, Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland counties. In Lancaster County the official drop-off site is White Stone Church of the Nazarene, reported coordinator Cathy Smith.
