Owners could rebuild historic tavern

LANCASTER—Although a final decision hasn’t been made, owners of the historic Lancaster Tavern & Inn in Lancaster are hoping to rebuild the centuries-old structure following a fire last week.

“We’ve had dozens and dozens of calls and the community has been so supportive,” said owner Carroll Reiblich. “Structurally, the damage was contained to the attic and roof but of course there was smoke and water damage throughout.”

Fire swept through the building on April 1 and took crews from six volunteer fire departments over two hours to contain. No one was injured in the fire and…
