Oyster Roast and Courtyard Party to open new exhibit at Essex museum

The Essex County Museum & Historical Society Fall Oyster Roast and Courtyard Party will be held from 2-5 p.m. November 12.

In addition to a historic stroll around Prince Street, an autumn celebration will include an oyster roast, bratwursts, hotdogs, a bonfire and music by the Rockfish Band. Beer and wine also will be available for purchase.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $20 per person, $30 per couple or $40 per family at www.ecmhs.org or at the museum, 218 Water Lane, Tappahannock. Funds raised by this event will support Museum programs and community outreach, said executive director Meg Hodges.

The event, sponsored by Dominion Energy, will serve as the grand opening of a new exhibit, “Prince Street Recollections,” that showcases the history of Prince Street.
