Passionate patriot

Ellen J. Muddiman of Irvington (left) may be the queen of patriotism. “I have always had patriotic pride,” said Muddiman, shown celebrating with some fellow patriots. Perhaps it’s because she was born on July 4, 1945, at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C. Her father was on the rifle range when she was born, the sixth of seven siblings. “I always want fireworks on my birthday and dress up with red, white and blue,” she said. “I was able to watch the fireworks in 1976 in D.C.—very spectacular. It will be overwhelming this year!”
