Perez appointed to school board

CLARAVILLE—Pastor and former educator Carl Perez on February 20 was appointed to represent District 3 on the Northumberland school board.

Perez was appointed on a vote of 3-1 during a special meeting of the board. Community members Even Mazyck and Clarence Dameron also applied for the vacant seat.

Perez filled the seat left empty when former board member Gerald Howard died earlier this year. He will serve on the board until the term expires in 2021.
