Planning commission tables action on solar ordinance amendments

LANCASTER—Following a Thursday, August 21, public hearing on proposed amendments related to residential solar ordinances, the Lancaster planning commission unanimously tabled action until its September 18 meeting in order to gather additional information.

Director of planning and land use Olivia Hall said the proposed changes were “in response to concerns regarding an existing solar facility on residential property,” noting that supervisors asked the commission to review “if the actual configuration, location and operation of these existing solar facilities are coalescing with the intent of the ordinance as….
