Albert Pollard Jr. of Irvington recently completed the Long Creek 60K ultra-marathon in Virginia Beach. The April 3 event was a 37-mile figure 8 course entirely within First Landing State Park. Pollard, 53, finished third in the men’s age group and in the top half overall.
The friendly and enthusiastic crew of runners pushed Pollard hard and he completed the course in 7 hours, 7 minutes. The first place finisher completed the course in a blistering 5 hours.
