Positive vibes at LHS are praised, absenteeism is a concern at LMS

by Madison White Franks

KILMARNOCK—Lancaster High School principal Butch Gross last week reported to the school board that homecoming week was a success.

“The parade was phenomenal because it took a lot to make that happen,” said Gross.

Board member Kenya Moody thanked him for organizing the homecoming parade and bringing back school spirit.

“I have been hearing nothing but positive things about you and the administration at the high school. I think it’s very important that you know that,” said Moody.

“It’s a team effort and we have great kids and I have been impressed with them. We are very blessed in lots of ways,” said Gross.

“Mr. Gross and his staff have done a really great job at the high school,” said parent C.D. Hathaway.

Gross also noted the positive behavior interventions and supports reward system (PBIS) is working great for the students.
