Twelve youth and five adults with the Northern Neck Presbyterian Youth (NNPY) group recently traveled to New Berlin, N.Y., as part of a weeklong Reach Ministries International outreach.
Seven different churches in Lancaster and Northumberland counties were represented, including Campbell, Wesley and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, Morattico Baptist, St. Francis de Sales Catholic, White Stone Church of the Nazarene and Fairfields United Methodist.
Some 450 youth and adults from across the country were part of the mission in New Berlin, according to NNPY trip organizer Jackie Oren. The youth and chaperones participated in dozens of housing rehabilitation projects including two drywall projects, 28 porch projects, 21 exterior paint projects, 13 interior projects, 16 wheelchair ramps, eight new tile floors, six roofs sealed with aluminum roof coat, five sets of steps repaired, three new roofs installed and 15 houses cleaned with trisodium phosphate…
