Pughs sponsor new art room at Northumberland Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck recently unveiled details of its new art room planned for the soon-to-be-under-construction Northumberland Clubhouse.

Utilizing an Art Plus program, the new space is designed to enhance creativity and artistic skills, foster artistic expression and support local talent, reported marketing assistant Darden Ramsey. The space will offer state-of-the-art facilities for various art forms and the Art Plus program will provide additional workshops and classes for all ages.

The new art room will be sponsored by Ron and Micki Pugh who have a lifelong devotion to supporting art education. R. Pugh is an accomplished potter and a retired art teacher who dedicated most of his career to teaching students art. M. Pugh, who was an economics professor in her professional life, also is a talented artist, focusing her creative talents on fiber creations.
