Wild Things was the theme that artists envisioned when creating work for the August exhibit at the RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Although wild animals may have first come to mind, many other wild things appeared in the submitted art including weather, cartoon figures and abstract designs, reported executive director Sharon Stone.
The opening reception was August 4, with art judge Sherry Hodges announcing the awards. Hodges has a degree in fine arts from the College of William and Mary and a master’s in art education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her art teaching career at the secondary level extended for 34 years in York County Public Schools.
