Friday the 13th was unlucky for the Red Devils.
Rappahannock took a 27-13 lead at the half and went on to celebrate a homecoming victory, 34-13, over Lancaster in a Northern Neck District varsity football game in Warsaw last Friday.
The Devils are playing banged up and missing several key players, including both their first and second string quarterbacks.
Darius Reed got his first start and first complete game of the season against the Raiders, rushing for a one-yard touchdown and passing for 125 yards and a score. He completed 6-of-12 passes and connected with BJ Lee on a 40-yard scoring strike.
Lancaster did all of its scoring in the first half.
“With no starting running back, no starting quarterback and no starting linebacker, just finding positive yardage was big in this game,” said LHS coach Draper Washington.
