The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation (VFBF) on Tuesday, November 28, announced the winners in its 36th annual Journalism Awards program. The awards recognize exemplary ongoing coverage of agriculture issues, practices and events by print and broadcast news operations.
For a 17th time, the Rappahannock Record submitted a winning entry in the category for weekly and semi-weekly newspapers.
Rappahannock Record coverage during the contest year, September 6, 2022-August 25, 2023, included agritourism events, opportunities to enjoy seasonal Virginia produce and the overall evolution of agriculture in the Northern Neck.
The winning entry included staff-produced news or feature stories and photos by general assignment reporter-photographers Lisa Hinton-Valdrighi, Jackie Nunnery and AnnGardner Eubank, interns Riley Fletcher and Gabriel Zakaib, ….
