Refugee portrait exhibit reception slated

This month, the Northumberland Public Library (NPL) and Arts Alive! will present “Reaching Toward Hope and a Future,” an exhibit of watercolor portraits that capture the human connection to refugees from camps around the world.

Artist Constance de Bordenave uses actual photographs as inspiration to capture the spirit and hope for a better life, not always well-defined in news photographs, reported Pamela Hagy.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at NPL, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
