Relive history at the farmers market

A procession will take place at 11 a.m. September 21 as part of Living History Day at the Heathsville Farmers Market.

The public is invited to witness a historical procession September 21 at Rice’s Hotel/ Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville, as part of the Heathsville Farmers Market.

At 11 a.m., an 1812 Color Guard will proceed down Back Street in Heathsville, followed by the Kilmarnock and District Pipe Band and an entourage of celebrants in period attire, reported director Corinne Becker. The group will stop in front of RHHT, where a ceremony will be held to unveil a commemorative grave marker in honor of Capt. Griffin Foushee and his service to the country during the War of 1812.
