The fourth barnstorming team to visit Kilmarnock courtesy of the Texacos was The Queen & Her Maids from Rolling Hills, Calif.
The team was formed in 1963 by Royal Beaird as a spinoff of The King & His Court.
The four-person team was actually the Beaird family. Rosie was the queen and pitcher, siblings Eileen and Karen played shortstop and first base, respectively. “Lotta Chatter,” who turned out to be their brother, was the catcher and team comedian.
