REEDVILLE—Renee Reynolds Gilbert, J.D., 76, of Reedville passed away peacefully at her home on March 20, 2025.
She was born on February 20, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to Jay Frederick Reynolds Jr. and Ella Francis Murray and was preceded in death by her beloved parents; and her brother, Jay Frederick Reynolds III.
Renee was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who found immense joy in her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Gilbert; and her three sons and their families, Lane Gilbert, wife Ginny, children, Ella and Eli; Matt Gilbert, children, Chloe and Reed; and Justin Gilbert, wife Rebecca, children, Aiden and James.
A lifelong learner, an attorney and an avid reader, Renee had a deep appreciation for knowledge and discovery. She found happiness in gardening, exploring new places through travel and cherishing moments with her family. Her warmth, wisdom and love will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Bon Secours Cancer Institute at Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
Renee’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and her love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
