Devin and Kati Rose believe “technique is a chef’s devotion of love.” And it’s obvious, both in their choice of ingredients, passion for their product and attention to detail, there’s a lot of love poured into their new endeavor.
The couple recently opened Restaurant ADRIFT, 572 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone.
Graduates of Lancaster High School, Devin and Kati returned home to the Northern Neck two years ago and last year were debating another move from the area when the former Old Farm Truck building became available.
“We looked at each other and said, let’s do it. And we started working on the remodel in January,” said Kati.
A 2012 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Devin began his culinary career as an intern at The Inn at Little Washington. Eventually he worked his way up to Chef De Partie at the renowned restaurant and Kati was the maitre d’. An opportunity took them to the west coast where Devin worked at L’Auberge Carmel Restaurant Aubergine on the Monterey Peninsula in California. Kati worked alongside him.
Every step taken, according to Kati, has led to the opening of ADRIFT, their passion project…
