REEDVILLE—Robert Lee Bridge, 81, of Reedville died December 26, 2019.

The loving husband of Jacqueline Bryan Bridge née Kendall, father of Robert Justin Bridge of Syracuse, N.Y., and Samantha Lee Gravett of Warrenton, Bob was born on October 19, 1938, to Burton Earl Bridge and Dorothy (Seaman) Bridge in Sewickley, Pa.

He grew up in Clarksburg, W.Va., graduating from Washington Irving High School in 1956. He received a bachelor’s from The Pennsylvania State University in 1960 and a Bachelor of Laws from the College of Law at West Virginia University in 1963. In 1974, he earned a Master of Laws from The George Washington University.

He was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline Bryan Kendall, in 1963. 

In 1964, Bob entered the U.S. Air Force as a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps where he served for 28 years with postings to Louisiana; Bermuda; Washington, D.C.; Ankara, Turkey; South Carolina; Japan; and Illinois. Upon retirement from active duty as a colonel in 1993, Bob served an additional 11 years as a civilian attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the Air Force before fully retiring in 2004.

Bob and Jackie enjoyed their retirement years at their home on the water in Reedville, where they entertained their children, daughter-in-law Julie, son-in-law Matt, and their beloved grandchildren Jacob Gravett, John Bridge, Ty Gravett, and Grace Bridge.

He led a full life and felt well blessed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 13, at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery (New Section).
