Wesley Evangelical Presbyterian Church (WEPC), 1272 Taylor’s Creek Road, Weems, recently was ordained into the Evangelical Presbyterian Denomination.
Saturday, August 12, through Sunday, August 13, WEPC will host the Rev. Nader Awad, an evangelist-at-large in the Florida Presbytery of the EPC.
“All are welcome to join us for the worship Sunday at 10 a.m.,” said Curtis Hand.
Rev. Awad was born into a Coptic Christian family and grew up in Egypt, reported Hand. He came to saving knowledge of Christ as a teenager and sensed a call to serve Christ as an evangelist and minister of the gospel.
He enrolled in seminary and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in June 1990.
In 1991, he moved to Montreal, Canada, where he was involved in church planting and the pursuit of further academic studies. He earned a master of sacred theology and a master’s in historical theology from McGill University.
Since 2008, Rev. Awad has served as an interim pastor/evangelist in several Presbyterian churches in Western New York and Eastern Ohio.
