Rev. Beatrice Williams to lead Lenten Learning discussion on March 28

Rev. Beatrice Williams will lead a Lenten Learning discussion “Jesus as Boundary-Crosser” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.

Soup will be provided by Grace Church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, reported parish administrator Candie Newman. Dinner will be served promptly at 5:30 p.m., followed by presentation and worship. Child care is available.

Born and educated in Augusta, Ga., Rev. Williams began her spiritual journey under the direction of spirit-led grandparents. Upon completing her educational endeavors and receiving a call to ministry, she was licensed to preach the gospel at the Emanuel Institutional Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pa., under the leadership of pastor Joseph E. Daniels.

She later moved to Chesterfield, joined the Fifth Street Baptist Church under the leadership of pastor F. Todd Gray and was ordained to the ministry after completing her Master of Divinity at Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

A call to responsibility from the Lord has Rev. Williams serving with her husband, Rev. Dr. Tyron D. Williams at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Wicomico Church, as associate pastor of Christian education and administration. This union brings together a blended family of three daughters, two grandchildren and a son-in-law.
