The tradition has been for all members of the Kilmarnock Garden Club (KGC) to create wreaths to hang on the exterior of Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic changed that tradition, reported Jane Denton.
This year, the evergreen bases for the wreaths were created by Monica Fahey and her family, who own Land And Sea Farm Market in Heathsville, said Denton. Pine cones and brilliant red ribbons were applied to each wreath by KGC president Anita Hart and first vice president Rosemary Francis, on a very cold and windy day in the back parking lot of RGH.
Robert Henderson, RGH employee and a long-time partner in the hanging of the wreaths showed up, just in time, said Denton.
The wreaths are in place—and may 2021 bring back the tradition of all KGC members participating, she said.
