Rob Deane to join Christchurch School sailing program; Seahorses to compete in 2023 Atlantic Coast Championship

Christchurch head of school Billy Coyle recently announced Rob Deane has been hired in the role of waterfront and sailing program director/senior head coach. 

“Rob comes to us with a wealth of experience, accomplishments, and expertise—not only in the sailing world, but in the for-profit finance world as well. He is also a husband and father, with his family joining him to live on campus in June,” said Coyle.

Deane is a graduate of Boston University. He was a college sailing All-American in 1997, won the College Keelboat Championship in 1996, came in second in the 1997 College Team Race Championship, and second overall in the 1997 College Dinghy Championship. From 2008-17 he was on the British American Cup Team for keelboat team racing. In 2018 he placed 14th in the J22 World Championship and in 2019 won the US Sailing Championship for the Mallory Trophy.
