HEATHSVILLE—Robert Frank Bononus, 80, of Heathsville/Wicomico Church died Friday, September 11, 2020, at Lancashire Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Kilmarnock.
He was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Newark, N.J. Robert lived his full adult life in the state he called home: Virginia in the Northern Neck area.
He loved the country and water life, fishing and crabbing, and enjoyed talking to people. He had a love for watching old 50s and 60s western and slapstick black-and-white TV series. His family would always tell him, “you have the life of Riley.”
He is survived by his sister, Karen Richard of New Jersey; and three nieces, Audrena, Donna and Charlene; and relatives in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida. He will be greatly missed.
A prayer service and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 18, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Kilmarnock.
Any donations can be made to the American Red Cross to help those in need or to the American Cancer Society.
