WICOMICO CHURCH—Robert Glassell Christopher Sr. passed away in his childhood home in Wicomico Church on May 3, 2023, at the age of 88.
After growing up in Wicomico Church, he went on to VMI and used his civil engineering degree to go on to a successful career in the construction industry in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
He was an avid fisherman, gardener, hunter and pet lover. He was active in the VMI Alumni Association throughout his life and participated in several local organizations after retiring to Wicomico Church. He was a member of the Wicomico United Methodist Church congregation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.G.W. Christopher Sr. and his brother, A.G.W. Christopher Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan O’Hara Christopher; his son and his wife, Robert and Mary “Squiffy” Christopher; his grandchildren, Elizabeth “Wizzie” and Sallie Christopher; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and dear friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Wicomico United Methodist Church in Wicomico Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wicomico United Methodist Church.
