Rough landing at Hummel Field

TOPPING—A replica 1916 Fokker Dr-1 had a rough landing Sunday, April 19, at Hummel Field in Topping. The pilot was not injured and walked away from the crash.

The triplane, made famous in World War I by Baron von Richthofen, known as “The Red Baron,” is owned by the Forgotten Heroes Foundation, who just a couple of months ago added the plane to its fleet of aircraft used to teach middle school…
