The Run NNK running club will start the New Year with a Hangover 5K and a program for new runners or walkers—people just getting started or re-started with running or walking.
The Hangover Run will begin at 1 p.m. New Years Day at the Northumberland Family YMCA, 6348 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
The run and walk will be a low key, informal 5K, reported president Bill Kirby. All ages and all paces are welcome. The run/walk is free to all and anyone joining the club on that day will receive a $5 discount. Refreshments will be served after the run/walk.
The program for new runners and walkers will start at the same place and time and last about 10 weeks, said Kirby. The program will lead up to the club’s Earth Day 5K on April 21…
