Golfers from around the Northern Neck recently met regularly in the Rishi Yoga & Wellness (RYW) Yoga School, 578 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone to learn how to Reduce Pain & Improve Their Game!

Experience and mobility levels varied among participants, but by the end of six weeks, all reported improvements in mobility, posture and overall understanding of their body mechanics, as well as reductions in pain of the lower back, knees and shoulders, according to RYA instructor Emily Dawson-Chawla.

A key objective of this course was to operate more like a workshop than a simple guided class. This allowed RYW owners Emily and Ashlay Chawla to provide tools that participants could understand deeply, take home and to the golf course.

RYW will offer Yoga for Pain, Mobility & Balance beginning September 2 and invites golfers, tennis and pickleball players and any others who want to enhance their active lifestyle, while staying safe, to join. The deadline to sign up is August 29. Sessions will be held from 1-2 p.m. Mondays for six weeks. The fee is $189 and includes the use of all equipment, a t-shirt and 20% off voucher for a private service.

Ten spots are available. To secure a spot, call 456-8030, or visit www.rishiyogaandwellness.com.
