WHITE STONE—Jamilah Sawyer will fill the vacated seat of Paul Elbourn on the White Stone Town Council.
Council last Thursday unanimously appointed Sawyer to the vacant seat. Elbourn resigned his position in January after moving outside of town limits. Sawyer will fill the seat until a special election can be held in June.
She and Kathryn S. Roop, who was appointed in December to a seat vacated by Drew Hubbard, will both need to run for election if they intend to keep their seats.
Sawyer has lived at 107 Ice House Drive for 14 years.
