School board appoints principal and education technology director

CLARAVILLE—By unanimous 5-0 votes coming out of a closed session, the Northumberland school board on November 9 appointed Patrick Simmons principal of the middle school and Javornda Ashton director of educational technology.

Previously, Ashton was principal at the middle school and Simmons was the assistant principal. Both had served as interim administrators since September.

Dana O’Bier, Dr. Cheryl Brown Davis, Denise Mazyck, Betty Christopher and Gayle Sterrett all approved the measures.
