Tenor Erik DeMario and pianist Dr. Seung-Hye Kim will present Seafaring: A Recital of Ocean Odes and Voyage songs at 5:30 p.m. March 30 at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock.
Seafaring weaves together art songs, arias and folk melodies that evoke the sea’s beauty, wanderlust and the yearning for distant shores, reported parish administrator Bett Harrison Bryant. These pieces reflect the emotional depths of love, loss and discovery, capturing the vastness of water and its power to reflect the human spirit.
The program will feature works by composers such as Duparc, Chausson, Ireland and Mozart, alongside folk melodies and music by Quilter and Schubert.
