FAIRPORT—Sharon Elizabeth (Owens) Jennings, 82, of Fairport passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. Born on June 11, 1943, in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Alvin John Owens and Dorothy (Kelley) Owens.

In 1963, Sharon married John Lee Jennings in Colonial Beach. Together, they built a life rooted in community and hard work. For over 40 years, Sharon co-owned and managed Jennings Boatyard, where she served local watermen, boaters and neighbors with dedication, skill and an unwavering sense of service.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lee Jennings; and her brother, Jim Owens.

She is survived by her three sisters, Carolyn Davis (her identical twin), Mary Camp and Theresa Owens; four children, Jody Leigh Jennings, James Lawrence “Larry” Jennings, Jason Lee Jennings and Jessica Jennings Mullen; and nine grandchildren, Benjamin Morrissey, Nicholas Morrissey, Zachary Morrissey, Luke Jennings, Abby Jennings, Shannen Mullen, Nora Mullen, Kelly Mullen and Maven Mullen. As well as daughter-in-law, Michele Jennings; and sons-in-law, Mike Morrisey and Sean Mullen.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum/The Greater Reedville Association, or the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, organizations that reflect Sharon’s deep connection to her community and the Chesapeake Bay.
