LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office recently was reaccredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission in Warrenton.
The department underwent an assessment check covering 190 accreditation standards on every aspect of operations, reported Sheriff Patrick McCranie. Last week, the commission announced the department is 100% compliant and has met every standard without any returns or corrections.
The department is assessed every four years. It has been accredited since 2009, added Sheriff McCranie.
