Sheriff’s Report 01-20-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported the following activity:

January 10: Staff responded to the 400 block of White Hall Road for threats to harm another with a utility knife, to the 700 block of Chesapeake Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Old Fair Grounds Way to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a disorderly person, and to vandalism of house windows that occurred at the 100 block of Mantua Road.

January 11: Staff responded to a walk-in report of unemployment fraud that occurred at the 100 block of Robertson Lane, to the 300 block of Johns Neck Road for threats to harm another, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for crowd control, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for debris in the roadway, to the 100 block of Watercress Lane for a suicide, and to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a vehicle blocking the roadway.

January 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Drive for a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Waverly Avenue to deliver a death notification, to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for threats made to harm another with a knife, and to Weems and Johns Neck Roads for suspicious activity.

January 13: Staff responded to the 10300 block of River Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 700 block of Goodluck Road for a shooting near a residence in the late evening hours, to the 100 block of Greentown Road for fraud, and to the 10400 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for larceny of an Android smartphone.

January 14: Staff responded to the 200 block of School Street to assist emergency medical services with a sudden death, and to a walk-in report of the larceny of money and guns from the 100 block of Greentown Road.

January 15: Staff responded to the 900 block of Weems Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block Bagpipe Lane for a structure fire needing traffic control.

January 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of North Main Street for obscene FaceTime phone calls, to the 3300 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single overturned vehicle traffic crash, and to several weather related incidents in Lancaster County.

Staff also conducted five traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received seven E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on Bagpipe Lane.
