Sheriff’s Report 04-11-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felony

Benton Robert Wonderling, 18, of Warsaw was charged April 2 with carnal knowledge of a child between 13 and 15 years of age.

Misdemeanors

A Newport News man, 22, was charged April 4 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, and reckless driving by driving a vehicle that was not under proper control on a highway.

A Lancaster man, 18, was charged April 5 with assault and battery, and stalking.

A White Stone man, 23, was charged April 7 with failure to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for arraignment on a charge of driving suspended and following too closely.

A Lancaster man, 22, was charged April 6 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged April 6 with trespassing (Cumberland County).

Activity report

April 1: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to the 300 block of Carlson Road for a domestic assault, and to the 1000 block of Millenbeck Road for the report of a sex crime.

April 2: Staff responded to the 400 block of White Hall Road for a verbal disagreement and trespassing, and to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for check theft and forgery.

April 3: Staff responded to the 20000 block of Mary Ball Road for a traffic complaint, to the 500 block of Oliver Lane for an adult welfare check, to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for gunshots in the area, to Irvington and Harris roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1300 block of Shore Drive for a missing juvenile (juvenile was safely located), to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Beach Road for livestock in the highway, and to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a wanted person.

April 4: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a stolen license plate, to the 200 block of Gordon Drive for a suspicious person, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle, to the 100 block of Greenfield Road for an adult welfare check, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Harris Drive for an assault, to Mary Ball and River roads for debris in the highway.

April 5: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 10 block of Brent Court for a stolen license plate and larceny of electronics, to the 100 block of Rappahannock Drive for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for a domestic assault, and to the 400 block of Irvington Road for a suspicious vehicle.

April 6: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a neighbor dispute, and to the 1600 block of Belle Isle Road for a domestic disturbance.

April 7: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for an adult welfare check, to the 100 block of Meyers Drive for trespassing, and to the 500 block of Oliver Lane for trespassing.

April 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Dutton Road for legal advice, and to Davis Mill Road for a suspicious vehicle.

Staff also conducted 24 traffic stops, issued 17 summonses, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 15 E911 hang up calls and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to fire alarms at 113 DMV Drive and 460 South Main Street.

White Stone VFD responded to a structure fire at 2725 Weems Road and a fire alarm at 104 Pembroke Lane.
