Sheriff’s Report 06-03-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against  eight individuals.

Felonies

Ronald Edward Holmes Jr., 54, of Lancaster was charged May 28 with rape, intercourse by force/threat/intimidation, and forcible sodomy.

Oriel Purchell Lee, 32, of Kilmarnock was charged May 28 with assault and battery of a family member, third offense.

Lijuana Lanette Anderson, 47, of White Stone was charged May 28 with knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily harm to another which placed such person in fear. She also was charged May 24 with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 19, was charged May 24 with failure to comply with pretrial services.

A White Stone man, 22, was charged May 25 with three counts of probation violation on a misdemeanor offense.

A Weems woman, 34, was charged May 28 on two counts of having a dangerous dog and violation of the rabies ordinance.

A Heathsville man, 44, was charged May 29 with trespassing.

A Lancaster man, 26, was charged May 29 with threatening/profane language delivered by phone/text.

Activity report

May 24: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an attempt to obtain funds by fraud, to the 800 block of Levelgreen Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 100 block of Old Bethel Road for threats made to harm another.

May 25: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a person with an altered mental status, to the 100 block of Chestnut Grove Lane for a suicidal person with a handgun, to the 100 block of Peach Tree Lane for a missing child, to the 400 block of Sullavans Road for gunshots and fighting in progress, and to the 100 block of British Landing Drive for a larceny.

May 26: Staff responded to the 1900 block of Morattico Road for gunshots fired possibly toward an occupied dwelling, to the 300 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for a suspicious person, to the 1000 block of Ocran Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1700 block of Morattico Road for suspicious activity, to Christ Church and Gaskins Roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in a fatality, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 2500 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance.

May 27: Staff responded to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for a suspicious person, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with entry into a residence, to the 300 block of Greentown Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 200 block of Sandlin Drive for a noise violation from loud music, to the 1900 block of Old Salem Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash; and to a walk-in report of a rape/sodomy that occurred at the 100 block of Cove Lane.

May 28: Staff responded to Sycamore Lane and Shore Drive for storm damage, to the 900 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a motorcycle occupied twice with neither wearing a helmet and speeding, to the intersection of Mary Ball and River roads for  a downed tree in the roadway, to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a noise violation from loud music.

May 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Dollhouse Lane to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with an assault involving a weapon, to Merry Point Road for a downed tree in the roadway, to Mary Ball and Regina roads to assist Virginia State Police with an arrest, to Riverwood Drive for a downed tree in the roadway, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a reckless driver.

May 30: Staff responded to White Pine Drive to assist VSP with an arrest, to the 100 block of Joyful Way for threats made to harm another, and to the 500 block of North Main Street for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted five motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged two inmate transport, received 13 E911 hang-up calls, fielded two requests for animal control service and issued three related summonses.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to an EMS request for lift assistance on Sandlin Drive and separate traffic crashes at Christ Church and Gaskins roads and Old Salem Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to an EMS request for a landing zone on Mary Ball Road and with Kilmarnock VFD to assist Westmoreland fire and rescue units with a large dump fire on Poorhouse Road.
