Sheriff’s report 07-08-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against 11 individuals.

Felonies

Stephen Allen Redd, 67, of Lancaster was charged June 27 with malicious wounding.

Paul Avery Cockrell, 40, of White Stone was charged June 28 with distribution of heroin, a Schedule I or II controlled substance; and distribution of Oxycodone, a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

Alkendra Shatoye Coleman, 29, of Lancaster was charged June 29 with distribution of Fentanyl, a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

Michael Deandre Williams, 26, of Weems was charged July 3 with disorderly conduct; and threats to bomb/burn a structure.

Misdemeanors

A Gloucester woman, 26, was charged June 29 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

A Lancaster man, 40, was charged June 30 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Baltimore, Md., woman, 60, was charged June 30 with assault.

A White Stone woman, 35, was charged July 1 with assault.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged July 1 with two counts of contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 28, was charged July 2 with indecent exposure; and solicitation of prostitution.

A White Stone woman, 53, was charged July 3 with 10 counts of violating provisions of the Fire Prevention Code: to wit lit off an illegal firework device that reached above 14 feet in height.

Activity report

June 28: Staff responded to Waterview Point Lane for a person with an altered mental status.

June 29: Staff responded to the 200 block of Taylors Creek Road to check on the welfare of a resident, to Mount Jean for stolen yard signs, to the 100 block of Clover Lane for trespassers, to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for suspicious activity, and to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for a wanted person.

June 30: Staff responded to Goodluck and Mary Ball roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 17000 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of Bar Neck Lane to check on the welfare of a resident, to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic assault, and to a walk-in report of assault and abduction.

July 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of Carlton Lane for an unattended death, and to Mary Ball and Chases roads for a downed tree in the roadway.

July 2: Staff responded to the 300 block of Crossroad for a noise violation in the early morning hours from a car alarm, to a walk-in report of an assault and a felon in possession of a firearm that occurred at the 100 block of Beach Creek Road; to the 200 block of King Carter Lane for a domestic assault and threats to kill/harm another, to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a person threatening suicide, and to the 100 block of Beach Creek Road for a burglary.

July 3: Staff responded to Sandlin and Chesapeake drives to assist Virginia State Police with a traffic stop that involved a wanted person, to the 2100 block of Little Bay Road for the report of fireworks being lit in the roadway, to Windmill Point Road and Robbins Lane for a noise violation from loud music.

July 4: Staff responded to the 600 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a sexual assault that occurred on Greentown Road, to the 2000 block of Black Stump Road for 4 wheelers and dirt bikes on the roadway, and to the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive for a sudden death.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued 13 summons, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated nine building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 23 E911 hang-up calls and fielded a request animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a lift assistance request for emergency medical services (EMS) on Corrotoman Circle, a brush fire on Rio Vista and a fuel leak at Irvington Road and James Jones Memorial Highway.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to separate fire/smoke alarm calls on Queenstown Road and Eastview Drive, a brush fire at Shore Drive and Morattico Road and a lift assistance request for EMS on Mary Ball Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a downed tree in the roadway at Mary Ball and Chases roads.
