Sheriff’s Report 07-21-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged July 12 with driving while intoxicated, second offense with 5-10 years.

A North woman, 33, was charged July 15 with driving after forfeiture of license and speeding.

A Lancaster man, 41, was charged July 16 with failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense.

A Heathsville man, 34, was charged July 17 with entering property for the purpose of damaging it or interfering with the rights of owner, and trespassing after having been forbidden to do so.

Activity Report

July 11: Staff responded to the 3700 block of Weems Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 600 block of Christ Church Road for a possible suicidal person, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for theft of a catalytic converter that occurred at the 3300 block of Irvington Road, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a fight in progress, and to the 100 block of Osprey Lane for suspicious activity

July 12: Staff responded to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) KPD with a bomb threat.

July 13: Staff responded to the 3300 block of Irvington Road for theft of a catalytic converter.

July 14: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Old Ferry roads for a possible brush fire, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a verbal dispute over a civil issue, to the 1500 block of Goodluck Road for the theft of a catalytic converter.

July 15: Staff responded to the 1000 of Clark Point Drive for vandalism of a vehicle, to Irvington Road and James B. Jones Memorial Highway for a reckless driver, to the Norris Bridge for a disabled vehicle struck by lightning, to the 1600 block of Waverly Avenue to assist Virginia Marine Resources Commission with a fuel spill from a boat, and to Mary Ball and Peirces roads for a disabled vehicle in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

July 16: Staff responded to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for a noise violation from loud music, to the 300 block of East Church Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road for shooting into an occupied dwelling, to a walk-in report of posting nude images on social media without consent, too Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road for a wanted person, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a domestic disturbance.

July 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for two suspicious vehicles, to the 500 block of Lara Road for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Sunset View Road for a trespasser.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, investigated six building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received eight E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Oak Lane.

White Stone VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Sandlin Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Merry Point Road, a carbon monoxide alarm on Queenstown Road and a fire/smoke alarm on Rocky Neck Road.

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock responded to a request for assistance from Tappahannock-Essex VFD with fighting several structure fires on Prince Street in Tappahannock.
