Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against one individual.
A Kilmarnock man, 26, was charged July 19 with assault and battery of a family or household member, and violation of a family abuse emergency protective order.

July 15: Staff responded to Chases and Mary Ball roads for a suspicious person, and to the 400 block of High Bank Road for destruction of property.
July 16: Staff responded to Nuttsville Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Tammy Drive for larceny, to Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for a disabled vehicle, and to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a disabled vehicle.
July 17: Staff responded to Taylors Creek and Moran Creek roads for downed power lines, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam, and to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing.
July 18: Staff responded to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam.
July 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fleets Bay Road for a traffic hazard, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a violation of protective order, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for an assault, to Shore Drive and Sycamore Lane for a downed tree, and to Avis Trail and Mary Ball Road for a downed tree.
July 20: Staff responded to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2000 block of Morattico Road for a downed tree, to the 900 block of Peirces Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 600 block of Mary Ball Road for a child welfare check.
Staff also conducted 30 traffic stops, issued 22 summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled two requests for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.
Fire calls
Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 463 North Main Street, a traffic crash at 278 North Main Street, separate structure lightning strikes at 464 Middle Gate and 458 Keith Avenue, and with White Stone VFD to a residential kitchen fire at 23 Fox Hill Drive.
Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure lightning strike at 725 Browns Lane.
Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
