Sheriff’s Report 09-03-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Heathsville man, 28, was charged August 25 with three counts of probation on a felony offense.

A White Stone man, 40, was charged August 28 with the violation of revocation of pretrial release-felony.

Activity report

August 24: Staff responded to the 400 block of Light Street to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a shooting into an occupied dwelling, to the 10500 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a pedestrian in need of assistance, and to Lumberlost and Taylors Creek roads for illegal dumping.

August 25: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for trees blocking the roadway, to the 1800 block of Black Stump Road for a motorcycle crash with injuries, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a possible suicidal person, and to the 100 block of Sea Gull Point for suspicious activity.

August 26: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Beach Road for a trespasser, to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of Steamboat Road for identity theft and possible fraud, and to the area of Bertrand Place for a trespasser.

August 27: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Merry Point Road for trespassing/stalking, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for an overdose of medicine with intent to commit suicide, to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another via text messages, to the 500 block of North Main Street for a firearm in the roadway, and to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a two-vehicle traffic crash.

August 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Alfonso Road for rapid fire gunshots, to the 900 block of Christ Church Road for a domestic disturbance, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway, and to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for a verbal disagreement.

August 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace to check the welfare of a young juvenile after receiving a report from a concerned citizen, to the area of North Main Street for a property dispute, to the 300 block of Fleets Bay Road for a lawnmower fire/suspected arson, to the area of Hoecake Road to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with the pursuit of a vehicle.

August 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kellum Drive for the reported vandalism of a vehicle, to the 4600 block of Mary Ball Road for a child custody dispute, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for trespassers and disorderly conduct.

Staff also conducted 12 traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted three motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, received 29 E911 hang-up calls, and handled a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motorcycle crash on Black Stump Road, a traffic crash on Main Street, a lift assistance request on Crossroad, and with White Stone VFD to a traffic crash on Carlson Road and a stove fire on Tammy Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Kennedy Avenue.
