Sheriff’s Report 09-21-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Kelley Renee Morris, 36, of Weems was charged September 16 with intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging a vehicle or residence with the value of, or damage to such property, totaling $1,000 or more.

Stephen Eric Ohree Jr., 31, of Kilmarnock was charged September 17 with intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging property, with value totaling $1,000 or more.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 38, was charged September 11 with failure to appear in court.

A Lancaster man, 35, was charged September 12 with failure to appear for arraignment on a driving suspended, second offense, charge.

A Kilmarnock man, 38, was charged September 12 with passing a worthless check.

A Lancaster man, 18, was charged September 13 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Lancaster woman, 50, was charged September 16 with failure to appear for counsel determination concerning a charge of shoplifting.

Activity Report

September 11: Staff responded to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for the report of check fraud, to a walk-in report of harassing text messages, and to the 400 block of Old Salem Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

September 12: Staff responded to the 7800 block of River Road for a missing juvenile, to Goodluck and Mary Ball roads for a suspicious person, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a wanted person, to the 500 block of Hoecake Road for a reckless driver, and to Ottoman Ferry and Oak Hill roads for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash.

September 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lively Oaks Road for check fraud and forgery, to Goodluck Road near Good Luck Cellars for a person lying in the roadway, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disorderly person, to the 1100 block of Old Salem Road for a stolen vehicle, to the 1000 block of Chesapeake Drive for a domestic assault, to the 5700 block of White Chapel Road for a person yelling for help, to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a hit and run traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Brent Court for a wanted person.

September 14: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to Chases and Mary Ball roads for a suspicious person, to the 8000 block of River Road for vandalism of a residence, to Chinns Mill on Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person walking near the roadway, and to the 300 block of Old Ferry Road for a trespasser.

September 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of West Church Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with the investigation of an open door of a commercial building, to the 100 block of Technology Park Drive for check fraud and forgery, to Mary Ball Road near White Stone for lumber in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly person, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disorderly person and threats made to harm another, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for a suspicious person, to the end of River Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Edgewood Lane for a noise violation from loud music, and to the 100 block of Spring Road for a trespasser.

September 16: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Mary Ball and High Bank roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to a walk-in report of vandalism that occurred at the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road, and to the 100 block of Lumberlost Trail for a fight in progress and vandalism of property.

September 17: Staff responded to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a trespasser, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred at the 100 block of Lumberlost Road, to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a road rage complaint, and to the 200 block of Daniel Drive for a suicidal person.

Staff also conducted 28 traffic stops, issued 22 summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, investigated two building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 19 E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a downed tree on Morattico Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on King Carter Drive, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, and with Kilmarnock FVD to a commercial structure fire on East Church Street.
