Sheriff’s Report 11-17-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Weems man, 56, was charged November 7 with trespassing after signs were posted.

A Williamsburg man, 31, was charged November 12 with assault.

Activity report

November 7: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in White Stone for a reckless driver, and to the 100 block of Rose Drive for a wanted person.

November 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lively Oaks Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Peake Road for a noise violation from loud music, Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for furniture in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 8000 block of River Road to assist with entering a residence resulting from a medical transport.

November 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Grove Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for the unauthorized use of vehicle tags, to the 100 block of Youcomico Drive for suspicious activity, to a walk-in report of identity fraud, to the 10100 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a domestic disturbance.

November 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Clark Lane to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a welfare check of the residence, responded to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a missing juvenile, to the 1500 block of Riverwood Drive for rapid gun fire in the evening hours, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for unauthorized use of a vehicle, to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a domestic disturbance; and to the 300 block of Peachtree Lane for a civil issue.

November 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of Devils Bottom Road for gunshots in the area, to the 100 block of Clover Lane for suspicious activity, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Scott Road for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, and to the 500 block of Ottoman Ferry Road to check the welfare of a resident.

November 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for a domestic disturbance, to Harris and Mary Ball Roads for a pedestrian near the roadway that appeared intoxicated, to the 200 block of Pop Castle Road for an assault, and to a civil issue that resulted from the sale of a weapon.

November 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Joyful Way for a wanted person out of Middlesex County.

Staff also conducted 24 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled eight calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, logged an inmate transport and received 19 E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Tom Morris Drive, to a traffic crash on Scott Road and with Upper Lancaster VFD and Kilmarnock VFD to a structure fire on Griffins Landing Road.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Heron Cove Lane and a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Goodluck roads.

Upper Lancaster VFD also setup a landing zone for emergency medical services on Courtney Road.
